The Fellowship With Jesus Christ, Part 1
This message is the first of three in a series regarding fellowship.
- God is calling us into the fellowship of His Son.
- God is the only one that can bring us into this fellowship.
- God is the only one that is able to maintain this fellowship.
- Fellowship means sharing in common.
- Before we were saved we shared in the fellowship of sin. We were all sinners.
- God has delivered us from the power of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of His Son. Our fellowship is now with the Son of God.
- God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are in perfect fellowship with one another.
- God created man for fellowship.
- Man broke that fellowship by sinning.
- This fellowship is restored by receiving the sacrifice of God's Son.
- Jesus Christ has brought us into relationship and fellowship with His Father. God is now our Father.
- The Father shares His Son with us. It is the delight of the Father to reveal His Son to us.
- This fellowship is a fellowship of life in the Spirit.
- God has made us partakers of the divine nature. God didn't hold anything back from us.
- There is the fellowship of the apostles.
- The apostles are in fellowship with the Son and share what they know of the Son to us.
- The apostles bring us into the true fellowship of God's Son.
- This fellowship is the fellowship of the Body of Christ. All of God's people are to receive one another as Christ has received us.
May the Lord open our eyes to see the fellowship that we have been called to. May we come out of limitation and lack so that our capacity may be enlarged so that we will enter more into the fellowship of the Lord.
1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; 2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) 3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. 4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.
9 God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
