In this sermon, Lance emphasizes the profound spiritual truths found in Psalm 110, highlighting the significance of experiencing the power of Christ’s resurrection. He begins by reading a literal translation of the psalm, which speaks of Christ’s victorious reign, judgment of nations, and His eternal priesthood after the order of Melchizedek. Lance underscores that our responsibility as believers is to be a freewill offering in the day of His power, which requires understanding and experiencing the resurrection power of Jesus. He explains that the phrase "out of the womb of the dawn" symbolizes a new day and new life, emphasizing that believers are not just born again but are to grow into strong, renewed "Jews"—mature, vibrant members of God's army—who are refreshed and energized by the eternal life of Christ. Lance stresses that this new creation is entirely of God, rooted in Christ, and that believers must live in the reality of this new life, not the old. He advocates for a deep experiential knowledge of the resurrection power, which is essential for overcoming sin, death, and circumstances, likening it to a seed obeying the law of life to overcome obstacles. He concludes that to truly build Zion and fulfill God's purpose, believers must walk in the Spirit, experience the resurrection power daily, and be a refreshing presence to the Lord, drawing all resources from Christ’s life within. Lance calls believers to trust in the Spirit’s power, to die daily, and to walk in the newness of life, so that Zion may be built up in spiritual strength and unity.
1 The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. 2 The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies. 3 Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth. 4 The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.
5 The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath. 6 He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries. 7 He shall drink of the brook in the way: therefore shall he lift up the head.
