The Cross And The Dynamic Of Victory
The way of victory is the way of the cross. We are to have the same mind and disposition of the Lord Jesus. The Lord Jesus had the capacity or mind to let go. This was the opposite of Satan whose character was one of possessiveness and unlawful ambition. The Lord Jesus emptied Himself and through His cross destroyed the work of the devil. To have the mind of Christ means that we know how to let go of even our own rights. This is the principle of the cross. The climax of the risen life is the cross.
The way of victory is through seeing the Lord Jesus, who is greater than all. There is gain out of loss and life out of death.
10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;
