Standing in the True Grace of God

I have that effect on all my students, once they finally have my class.

Scripture Readings

Let’s read a couple of Scriptures, okay? These will be in the New Testament, starting in 2 Timothy 3:12. Paul is writing to Timothy:

Yea, and all that would live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

And then in 1 Peter 5:12. Peter writes:

By Silvanus, our faithful brother, as I consider him, I have written to you briefly, exhorting and testifying that this is the true grace of God in which you stand.

Or, as the King James Version reads:

This is the true grace of God wherein ye stand.

And I think that is a better translation.

Then, going to 1 Peter 1:1, Peter begins to write:

Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the pilgrims of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ:
Grace to you and peace be multiplied.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,
who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while,
