It is good to be here tonight in fellowship with you in this regard. There are so many things one could say about evangelism, the gospel, and being a witness—many areas to cover.
Since receiving the invitation to come, I have been praying. Based on some things I shared last summer, and in the midst of praying and considering, the Lord has given me a particular burden. It is more a matter of perspective for us than of mechanics—more than simply how to do this or that.
At the end, I would like to share a few practical things. I hope we can also have an informal time of fellowship, with questions and discussion. I do not know that I have all the answers, but we can fellowship together. This is informal tonight. I will be talking, not preaching at you.
I would like us to read two familiar passages: the final verses in the Gospel of Matthew, where what is called the Great Commission is issued, and Acts 1.
And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
